The second artifact is my Shark Tank which was our Creative Problem Solving and Design Thinking Project. Makenna and I teamed up and created the Bicycle Desk. The problem we approached was to increase student physical activity while powering brain development, and learning about renewable energy. These bicycle desks generate power based on how frequently they use the desks. This works by having the students power the desk by pedaling the bicycle which, in turn, generates power for the school. This also prevents distraction because they are able to focus on pedaling the bike as well as focusing on the computer in front of them.

I chose this artifact because I really enjoyed how the Bicycle Desk idea came out. Our prototype was drawn by one of our friends who is an Art major. Also, this artifact relates to Standard 11 because it involves digital learning since children would use these bikes to generate electricity and while looking at their computer and learning. It helps limit distraction, and also allows an increase in productivity. This creative design project also allowed me to think outside the box and in a different way from what I am used to being a Med-Bio major. I believe that this project allowed for me to think in a more innovative way.
